One of the things I really like about Design Thinking is that you get to think about and fix real world problems. This requires that you are paying attention to people and things around you and to what you can do to make the world a better place--even if it's just one small step at a time.
In THIS ARTICLE from Make magazine, you can see what a group of students did to do just that. Through the design thinking process, they were able to brainstorm and solve problems of people in their local community. You don't have to look far away for that process, though, It's happening right here at MDIHS, too! Our design thinking classes in our Active Learning Center (ALC) are working to solve problems large and small identified by members of our school community. If you haven't seen what they are up to, you should check it out!
